boshi's tuning meditation
artist statement:
in september 22nd 2023, me and camie hosted an event at boshi's place titled "spontaneous composition", where we explored an intersection of games (video and not) and music. to start off, we decided to play a pre-existing instruction music score: Pauline Oliveros' tuning meditation. this website is a playful archive of that piece.
using the html <audio> tag, 10 voices are playing our recording of tuning meditation. each voice "breathes" and "sings" for a randomized duration. when singing, each voice alternates between picking a random rate change or picking a rate change from one of the other voices.
